Learn how to eat, before you learn how to not eat.

Let’s talk about fasting for a moment. The buzz word! Because if you aren't intermittent fasting, what are you even doing?! Kidding, of course. I don’t teach fasting, and I’m definitely not a fasting coach. I teach people to eat, first. Radical concept, eh? You've already tried not eating and restricting, and I bet it back fired on you, didn't it? I teach people to pay attention to their natural hunger and fullness cues, to honor our wonderful, perfect hunger signaling system that is in place to keep us safe and alive. In a world where we do everything possible to micro-manage our hunger… oh you’re hungry? Drink some water! Chew a piece of gum! Fast until 12pm! Just white knuckle that shit. How about we just eat when hunger calls? And after we master the skill of answering hunger with food that your human body LOVES and provides the upmost nutrition for optimal health ( with some chocolate and wine in between), then I teach folks to take a break from eating all the time, have some time where we aren’t digesting food, to stop eating with the clock and other societal cues and to start eating with their hunger. We are not designed to be eating frequently, we are not grazers by. We don’t need to, and shouldn’t have to eat every 2-3 hours. If you feel like you have too, don't worry, I have your solution to your unmanageable hunger, appetite and cravings. We evolved from food scarcity, our bodies are quite capable of going longer periods without stuffing our faces. Isn't that cool? If food wasn't around... let's say you are in a work meeting that is running long, on an airplane, or you forget your lunch at home, and you can effortlessly breeze through it, no HANGRY (PS hangry is not normal!), no headache, no energy crash. You can just patiently, effortlessly wait until you can get to your meal. It's a handy skill to have, when needed. Our hunter-gather ancestors ate when food was available, and didn’t eat when food wasn’t available. It wasn't a buzz word, or a rigid schedule and they sure as heck didn’t call it fasting….
